Blue-gray eyes glare down at her reflection in the river. She wanted to rip every strand off lavender hair off her head but she didn't. She let her hands stay balled at her side.
No she was too busy trying to get her supper. With a quick dart of her hand she pulls out a squirming fish and smiles. Her cat tail flicking back and forth in pleasure before she sets it down by her other three big fish.
"Those fish are for us demon!" growled a nearby villager and hit her with a rock in the back of her head.
"W... what? There are plenty of fish," protested Terry and turned only to find a rock connect squarely with her throat.
She reeled back choking and fell into the lake with one thought in her head.
(I can't swim)

Red eyes gleamed over at a river noticing a splash.He headed over to the river and saw someone splashing around,he raised an eyebrow and looked down at them."Can't you swim..?"He asked cocking his head to the side.

Terry hisses and yowls looking like a drowned rat as she flails trying to keep afloat.
"DOES IT LOOK LIKE I CAN SWIM!" she howls before her head goes under a third time.
She should have known the river was strongest in the middle as she got pulled away from the stranger. All she could see was bubbles as she kicked and screamed, her lungs burning with need for air.

Diaco sighed."Well excuse me,maybe i'll leave you in there.."He wasn't really going to leave her to drown so he jumped in after her.He reached out his hand trying to grab hold of her.He spreaded his wings out in the water and swished them back and forth,keeping him from going anywhere.

Terry tries desperately to grab his hand but the current drags her further under until she swears her feet brushes against the river bottom. She feels suddenly light headed as she starts to see white spots.
(Please... I don't want to die)
She tries blindly to reach for his hand again but already she takes in her first breath of water unable to hold it in any longer.

Diaco goes under and opens his eyes,looking for her.He sees her through the merky water and flaps his eings,getting a push of the water.He reaches out and grabs her by the hand.Swimming back to the top he pulls her up and looks over at her."You still alive..?"He asked unsure,but checking.

She tries her best to cough up the water, her throat burningas her eyes water up with tears. She tries to nod her head but she lets out a dry cough.
"I... I..." She sets on a fit of coughing again then lets out a yelp as a rock whiz to hit her ankle.
"Didn't I tell you stinking demon to get away from our lake. And then you tried to pollute it with your body!" growled the village boy joined with some other villagers.

Diaco looked back at them and turned back to the girl."Hold on.."He lifted her comletely out of the water and turned to the villagers."Throw one more rock and i'll burn you to a crisp.."He folded up his wings and they layed folded flat against his back."Alright so you ok..?"

Terry nodded her head weakly her body shivering to keep water. "I... It's c... cold," she chattered. "B... B... but thank you."
"Yeah right like you can burn us. You look like an overgrown bat," laughed a teenaged boy before throwing a rock at Diaco's wing.

Diaco nodded his head and cocked his head back at the kids."Grrr..."He bared his teeth and opened his mouth,flame shot out and burned the ground next to them."That could easily be you.."He looked back at Terry and thought for a moment."I could make a fire for you before I leave if you wish."

"C... cat's don't taste that good," she says in a trembly voices shaking even more.
Villagers flip Diaco off before running off scared. One even daring to throw one last rock.

Diaco looked at her puzzled and shook his head."I'm not going to eat you..it was so you don't freeze to death.."He spreaded his left wing and knocked the rock down.(Damn kids...)He thought bitterly.

Diaco gathered some sticks and put them in a pile,setting them on fire with his own breath.He took off his red and white haori top then wrung it out,squeezing out all the water he could.His fire red eyes studied the fire as he tied his haori around him.

She sat as close to the fire as she could without burning herself. Her hands wringing her hair out as her tail lay limply down on the ground.
"They hate me... they all do. The villagers... the youkais. All of them because they know what a monster I really am," she said with distaste.
Her blue-gray eyes didn't even bother to focus on Diaco.
