One of Royal's Wolf Demon Samurai was sent out by Royal to find good, Strong, and Skilled Mercenarys. The Okami Youkai Samurai wandered around in search for skilled Mercenarys.

The Wolf Demon Samurai Royal sent out to find some mercenaries had a list of people he had to find List from Top to Bottom: 1. Mugen 2. Any Member of the Band of Seven 3. Anyone that is Skilled and Strong.
